One of the largest market segments Shelter Structures, Inc. serves is the concrete, precast production and the aggregate, sand and cement mining industries. Our customers in these industries have found many uses for our shelters:
- Material bins - Increasing demands for moisture control of incoming materials because of accelerating automation in the precast industry requires controlling the amount of rain or snowfall accumulating in material bins. Our shelters provide weather protection with heavy duty vinyl covers that still allow natural light.
- Casting and finishing yards - Fabric covered steel buildings can protect all mold beds, castings and workers from the ravages of sun, rain and extremes of temperatures.
- Kilns - Control the curing of parts by introduction of heat or steam, contained within our rugged shelters.
All facilities have high equipment maintenance demands. Our shelters make ideal sheds for maintaining everything from fork trucks to half million pound dumps and dragline buckets.
They can also be purchased with heavy duty rubber wheels, so you can either move the molds and parts in and out of the shelter, or move the shelter out of the way of molds, parts or picking equipment.

 | Rinker Quarry in Medley, FL needed a covered maintenance area in the middle of their quarry. A Shelter Structures shelter on top of four sea containers solved the problem. Two of the containers are used for storage, and two are air conditioned and used as an office and lunchroom. This shelter may be moved to a new location as quarry excavation progress. | |
