Lee County Composting Facility | Waste Management Building
Shelter Structures has completed the installation of six (6) 166’W x 120’L x 42’H open ended waste management buildings for the Composting Facility at the Lee/Hendry County Landfill. Built to withstand 120 mph winds, the shelters are being used to provide the weather protection needed to control the moisture content of organic debris while it is being composted. Lee and Hendry Counties bring the debris to the facility, then utilize the compost at municipal sites. They can also sell the compost to private enterprise, as well as accepting debris from other counties and composting it for a fee.
This was a rush project with a very tight schedule. Shelter Structures had to coordinate closely with other contractors on the project to ensure timely completion.
