Tully Construction – Belt Parkway Bridge Project

Project Dimensions: 61′W x 26′H x 460′L

Tully Construction of Flushing, NY, is one of the top heavy and highway contractors in the tri-state area.· They were awarded the contract to build a new bridge on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, NY and needed to be able to provide a heated environment while installing a poured concrete bridge deck in winter weather. Although the construction shelter was required for only a short period, it still needed to be permitted to New York City’s stringent building codes.· Cost and flexibility for future use were significant requirements for this project.

Shelter Structures designed this shelter which straddles the bridge frame using cables rather than rigid purlins.· This created considerable cost savings in both structure and installation cost.· The shelter has been designed so that it may be utilized for future projects on bridges of varying widths by inserting additional sections to each truss providing our client environmental protection for future projects, at minimal expense, through re-use.

Custom weather protection solutions for challenging projects – that’s the Shelter Structures Advantage.
