CAF – Elmira, NY – Large Fabric Structure

Project Dimensions: 115′W x 71′H x 240′L

CAF required additional storage space adjacent to their current facility which was built in 1906. The difficulty of this project was compounded by a large gantry crane running the length of the 500 foot long building that needed to remain functional, so a large fabric structure was needed. Shelter Structures designed a unique asymmetrical large fabric structure that was attached to the buildings outside metal wall by first creating our own metal wall that was permanently welded to their building. Our truss structure began from there and then out and over the gantry crane creating storage space while preserving ongoing operations.
