Applications: Recycling and Waste Management

Shelter Structures has recently been working on fabric buildings for recycling and waste management facilities to help solve recycling and waste management issues at the local level.  We are a member of the U.S. Composting Council, and are working to develop fabric buildings that will better serve the communities they are in.

We recently completed the installation of six (6) 166’W x 120’L x 42’H open ended buildings for the Composting Facility at the Lee/Hendry County Landfill. Built to withstand 120 mph winds, the fabric buildings are being used to provide the weather protection needed to control the moisture content of organic debris while it is being composted. Lee and Hendry counties bring the debris to the facility, then utilize the compost at municipal sites. They can also sell the compost to private enterprise, as well as accepting debris from other counties and composting it for a fee.

BCR’s industry-revolutionizing technologies that convert organic waste streams into safe, valuable, and marketable end products require covered shelters for processing and storage. The 133’ by 271’ structure is designed to protect compost processes and simultaneously provide storage facilities. Shelter-Rite PVC coated fabric and provides warranted durability, UV protection, and cost-effectiveness. For more information on the project, click here.
